Our motivation to stand

When disinformation feels emotionally true

Online manipulation does not only spread false information. It often targets emotions, identity and belonging. Young people are exposed every day to narratives that frame groups as enemies, create fear or anger, and exploit feelings of exclusion.

Traditional media literacy and fact-checking are important, but they are not always enough when disinformation feels emotionally true. Identity Decode responds with practical tools for youth workers focused on emotionally safe dialogue, identity-conscious facilitation and democratic resilience.
